A Radio Test Set helps to successfully diagnose the operation of radio systems by demodulating and modifying RF (radiofrequency) signals from various sources. Radio Test Set can easily measure such parameters as strength and frequency diversity. They are used for both office and home applications, from simple single channel radio receivers to complete global system networks. A perfect signal tester should be able to provide high-resolution RF amplitude response measurements in the whole spectrum, from the smallest low level sample voltages to the largest modulation levels.

The frequency characteristic measures the power radiated by the transmitter, and is often measured in half-cycle increments.
