Demand for Isoprene Monomer Has Increased Due To Increasing Demand for Natural or Synthetic Rubber

Image
Isoprene is a monomer found in natural rubber and is also a common structure in a wide variety of other natural compounds, collectively called terpenoids. Isoprene Monomer is widely used in the production of polyisoprene (synthetic rubber). It is also used to manufacture various copolymers, such as isobutylene, butadiene, styrene, and others. Moreover, Isoprene Monomer is used in the production of medical equipment, sports equipment, conveyer belt, electric wire and cable, etc. Thus, there is an increasing demand for isoprene, worldwide. Furthermore, over the years, demand for Isoprene Monomer has increased due to the increasing demand for natural or synthetic rubber worldwide. According to the Observatory of Economic Complexity (OEC World), in 2019, the top importers of synthetic rubber were China (US$ 6.42 billion), Germany (US$ 1.21 billion), United States (US$ 1.51 billion), Thailand (US$ 1.04 billion), and Malaysia (US$ 1.19 billion). Synthetic rubber can be ...
