Rising Prevalence of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia Has Led To Increased Demand for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia Surgical Devices

  Benign prostatic hyperplasia surgical devices are used during the benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) surgery. During surgery, doctors remove portions of the prostate that are affecting the urine flow. Doctors can use minimally invasive procedures, such as rezum water vapor therapy, transurethral microwave therapy (TUMT), and UroLift system. Mininally invasive surgeries performed under general anesthesia include laser surgery, transurethral incision of the prostate (TUIP), and transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP). While invasive surgeries, such as laparoscopic and robotic prostatectomy and open surgery (open prostatectomy) is also performed to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (also known as prostate gland enlargement). BPH is a common problem affecting the quality of life in about a third of men over the age of 50.
