Desktop-As-A-Service is offered in all parts of the world especially in regions such as the U.S., U.K., and Italy. Desktop-as-a-service (DaaS) is a server management technology that separated the desktop operating system and related application software from the user's physical desktop device which is used to access it in a virtual manner. Desktop-as-a-service is usually provided by a service provider with some additional features that may include desktop virtualization, cloud computing support, and advanced security measures. It is usually used in large corporate infrastructures as it provides the company with better control over desktop management than having the desktop operating system on their own premises. The biggest advantage of a desktop-as-a-service (DaaS) is that it eliminates the need for maintaining two (or sometimes even multiple) systems for operating, viewing, and performing various functions with the desktop computer. This also reduces system maintenance costs since the maintenance costs are directly related to the number of systems that must be managed by a company.

A few companies offer Desktop-As-A-Service based desktops at a very low cost and are usually referred to as desktop-as-a-service (DaaS) desktops. One example is Microsoft Retail Live. Desktop-as-a-service remote services desktops are offered by several companies at very affordable prices. These companies normally provide a choice of either VDI or full-virtualization desktops. One of the benefits that companies have experienced with desktop-as-a-service is that they can eliminate many of the hassles involved in installing and configuring VDI based desktops. In regions such as the US, the prevalence of IT companies has ensured proper desktop-as-a-service solutions. For instance, according to SelectUSA Investment Summit, there are currently more than 525000 IT and software companies in the US.
