What is Cell Expansion? How it take places? What are its consequences?
Cell growth and expansion is a simple process to understand, but complex in biological systems. Basically, plant growth and development take place at the molecular level: Cell Expansion, also known as mitosis, involves the separation and duplication of entire sets of cells. Cells may divide into two types: a proton cell that generate the chemical energy ATP; a carbon-based cell that produce carbon dioxide; and an oxygen-based cell that produce oxygen. Because oxygen cell numbers increase with increasing levels of carbon dioxide in the surrounding air, photosynthesis, the process through which plants obtain food through the photosynthesis of food matter taken from the environment, is completed via an exchange of electrons between the plants' chloroplasts (the specific cell responsible for making energy) and the carbon compounds that comprise the exogenous carbon compounds. When cells multiply uncontrollably, the result is often an autoimmune reaction: the immune system reacts to an antigen-specific antigens and produces antibodies to attack these specific cells. The process through which this happens is known as antibody-tissue contact. The immune reaction that triggers an autoimmune reaction can be triggered by many factors such as: infection, exposure to toxins (such as pesticides and herbicides), chemicals (like insecticides, preservatives, and others), radiation, drugs, and other immuno-suppressants.
When a cell proliferates beyond the point where it is required, it becomes malignant (cancerous). This is true for all cells including: white blood cells, bone marrow, skin, kidney, pancreas, lungs, prostate, liver, stomach, gall bladder, intestines, and others. In the case of cancer, Cell Expansion can occur in two basic ways: either invasive or lymphatic. In the case of non-invasive cell proliferation, such as those in the colon, thyroid, and breast ducts, the expansion results in the growth of the tissues (which is called leukoplakia) and scar tissue that blocks the passage of cells; this blockage is called a cancer tumor. Cancerous cell expansion can also occur in the gastrointestinal tract, skin, bones, kidney, lungs, heart, pancreas, or other organs.
