Eco Fiber; Used in Textile Industry Due to Natural & Ecologically Friendly Properties

Eco Fiber

The demand for Eco Fiber is increasing at a great pace because of increasing environmental awareness among people around the world. The use of natural fibers supports organic farming, environmental awareness, and less use of synthetic chemicals on food crops. Eco fibers are highly durable and can be used for different applications. Through use of these fibers, the farmers are able to produce cash crops at reasonable prices because these fibers are eco-friendly and can be cultivated in a natural manner.

Due to its natural and ecologically friendly properties, Eco Fiber are widely used in the textile industry. Textile products are manufactured using a variety of chemical agents such as dyeing agents, soaping, wetting agents, and scouring agents. The use of aforementioned agents has given rise to many concerns about environmental pollution, which are contributing to global warming. This in turn, as well as rapidly growing textile industry, has increased the demand for eco fibers in the textile industry.

According to the Mexican National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), there was an 11.3% growth in the textile industry activity index between August 2017 and August 2018. Moreover, the making of fibers, cloth, and other textile goods has existed in the country since at least 1400 BCE. Eco fibers are produced from either natural materials such as jute, hemp, organic cotton, or synthetic materials such as polypropylene, polyester, or polyethylene which are recycled to convert them into eco fibers.

Ramie, bamboo, linen, and hemp are environmentally friendly fibers. Bamboo is one of nature's most sustainable resources; it is naturally regenerative and is 100% biodegradable. Eco fibers are fibers that are not grown chemically or with the help of pesticides. Therefore, they are increasingly adopted in the textile manufacturing. Moreover, eco fibers are naturally resistant to mould and mildew and are the disease free.
