Dental Membrane and Bone Graft Substitute can aid individuals suffering from dental disorders or orthopedic diseases

Dental Membrane and Bone Graft Substitute

Dental Membrane and Bone Graft Substitute are a critical part of orthopedics. A dental membrane, commonly referred to as dental resin or residue membrane, is a thin layer that surrounds the teeth and gums. It serves as a protective layer against decay, germs, heat, chemicals, and harmful particles. Its purpose is to protect the tooth from harmful substances so the underlying structure does not deteriorate. When properly chosen and implemented, it protects the teeth from cavities before they develop.

An engineered dental membrane that contains a resin derived from natural sources and meets stringent manufacturing standards. This Dental Membrane is designed to offer dental implants the same level of resistance to impact and abrasion as other standard dental implants. Abrasion and heat damage to the tooth's surface is completely eliminated. These specially manufactured dental membranes are specially formulated to form a barrier to prevent corrosion.

Dental Membrane and Bone Graft Substitute or osseointegration can be used for other reasons but the most popular reason is after accidents, especially if the bones have been lost for a certain period of time. The procedure works by the patient's bone cells being expanded by stem cells taken from another person's body, usually a bone marrow. The procedure is invasive and it can be painful surgery, however, most patients feel no pain whatsoever. After the surgery, patients will be given special medication and they will have to rest for a few weeks before the wounds heal.

An incision is made into a bone tumor or weakness and the implant is surgically placed into the area. The bone graft substitute is actually grafted into the weak spot which strengthens the implant and also helps it integrate better with bone. This process helps increase the bone density and the implant becomes completely permanent. After a few months, the incisions will close and the implants will have integrated into the bone where they belong. Recently, in April 2021, Osstem Implant launched collagen membranes OssMem for natural bone regeneration in Europe.
