Grain Analysis


Grain analysis is a technique used in the analysis of food products. The grain analysis involves the detection and measurement of the numerous mycotoxins in grains. The mycotoxins are a group of chemical substances that are formed when mycotoxins are combined with certain enzymes. Generally, mycotoxins are detected in products produced by fungi, mold, yeast, molds, animals, or even plants. The grain analysis is mainly monitoring the quality of whole grains by testing the samples for mycotoxin contamination, pesticides residue, and other physical characteristics including size and shape.

The Grain Analysis is widely used for the detection and testing of mycotoxin contamination in grains. These mycotoxins are dangerous for human health if they are ingested; hence, they should be removed from the food products. These mycotoxins are detected through the analysis of the mycotoxins in the grains; hence, the cytotoxicity test is also known as the global grain survey. The mycotoxins are usually present in cereal grains, so the global grain survey test is performed on cereals.

Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, and the Philippines are the countries that are mainly producing the grains used to manufacture food products. They are also the main producers of the global wheat and maize. The main types of food products that are derived from these grains are soft white bread, sushi, Chinese porridge, noodles, beef, sausages, ground beef, dried fruit pakoras, and biscuits. The mycotoxins in the grains from Asia Pacific are mainly detected during the mycotoxins in the crop field testing, contamination on the farm fields, and in the field soil. For instance, in August 2021, the Ministry of Agriculture in Japan had imported over 81,000 tons of food grains from the U.S. and Canada through a tender for milling.

The annual forecasts of the crop are based on the grain analysis and the forecast of the production is done on an annual basis as well. The grain analysis and the forecast is done based on the commercial production and the competitive landscape of the various countries. The significance of the forecast of the annual production is not lost in the analysis, and the mycotoxins in the grains can be detected easily by using the mycotoxins detection methodology.
